This coming Friday the place to be will be the Norwood Hotel for CAPS Manitoba’s 11th Annual Speaker School featuring FOUR amazing speakers – Steve Lowell, Stephen Sim, Sylvia Kuzyk, and Rolande Kirouac!
A message from our Speaker School Emcee, Deri Latimer, CSP:
“Do you know what turns you on? Really? Do you? What is it that fuels your fire, gets your motor running, adds the caffeine to your coffee, jazzes you up (add your own reference here)? At Speaker School on March 14, you’ll get some time to reflect, recharge and remix your plan for 2014 — to follow your passion and position yourself for success!” – Deri Latimer
Our headline speaker, Steve Lowell will be showcasing techniques and resources in his morning and afternoon presentations. Come witness Steve’s Speaker Makeover.
From Stage Fright to Standing Ovations
Steve will take volunteers from the audience to demonstrate his three circles which are three different states that speakers take while they are on the stage. Speakers will notice a transformation in how their movement, eye contact, stage mechanics etc. are affected by changing one tiny little thing. Come witness Steve’s Speaker Makeover.
The Killer Keynote Template
Explore a template that was developed by mixing and matching the results of years of researching the numerous forces used by his clients to get ridiculous results on the stage. Each participant will have a worksheet to complete during this session to create a keynote that inspires, influences and motivates, AND sells!
The value of Steve’s two sessions alone is worth $$thousands$$! Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to see Steve in action right here in Winnipeg. Our lucky Speaker School attendees will learn Steve’s strategies (and much more) for just $189. Winnipeggers LOVE a deal, right? Register today as space is limited!
Also featured will be some of the strategies that Rolande Kirouac, our CAPSManitoba President, learned from Doug Stevenson master storyteller, during her time in Colorado.
“Storytelling is all about techniques, practice and love! I will share my favourite stories, and a couple of techniques and ideas on how to get you out there practicing your stories. You will learn how to lighten up your presentation and stand out in a crowded market!” – Rolande Kirouac
Trusting Your Partner
Stephen Sim, one half of the Improv Comedy Theatre Duo called Crumbs, will be sharing his experiences on team presentations as well as providing a real-life example of how two people can work together well while sharing the stage.
He’s constantly having to trust his comedy partner to not leave him hanging and to facilitate smooth transitions between the two of them, an invaluable tool for any co-presenter. He’ll also be exploring the “Power of Yes” and how partnership trust plays into the cohesion of the ideas you generate. Check out Stephen’s TEDx Manitoba presentation to see him in action.
And if those weren’t enough of a reason, you will also be eligible to win one of over $2,600 worth of amazing door prizes too!

This will be an inspiring day of stories, tips and techniques that will be shared and which we can use to keep us motivated to keep us going throughout the coming year no matter where our journey takes us!” – Dianne McCoy
